On wanting to do too many things
Where do I even start?
-I used to crochet amigurumis. My favorite thing I have made to this day is the first doll I made, a Miku Hatsune from a youtube video. It looks bad cause my stitches were too loose at the time so there are lots of visible holes, but I still love it and I want to remake it one day. One day. I've only been crocheting tiny hearts for my mother to ship with the hand-made dolls she makes. I forgot how to do everything else. But I have A LOT of yarn just gathering dust.
-I wanted to try biscuit (cold porcelain/air-dry clay? I'm not exactly sure what the English translation is). Having essential tremor kinda sucks, my coordination is bad, my hands shake a lot. (Yes even though I draw, in spite of it). Okay what about 3d modeling instead... another thing that would be really cool to do. Some day.
-Animation, ahh the current very tricky thing I'm just starting to learn... I don't know if it's cause I'm older. I seem to have lost my patience to learn new things. And to do things patiently, slowly. Nowadays if I'm gonna draw for myself it'd better be close to done in 2, 4 or so hours... (when I draw for a client I'm much more patient).
Learning new things... hard... staying on art, just trying out a new art style? HARD. What do you mean I have to think and use this program in a completely new way than I am used to? Very troublesome. So yeah animation is very complicated. I have not given up, I'm slowly learning how the program is supposed to work with it. But it does take forever. And I want my things to be done soon. Not in 10 hours maybe. Lol for some reason I thought getting older would make me more patient instead.
Painting on SAI I don't have to struggle with my tools, it feels nice, it feels like what it's supposed to be painting digitally (I think it's the brush stabilizer). But Clip Studio has all this nice texture and features and 3d models to pose and etc that SAI doesn't have... But I keep going back to SAI. I found an animation assistant for SAI2, which I used to to this little thing just to try to make a wigglypaint effect.

It sucks I know, but it's a test! Not like I'm gonna get sick of re-drawing the same 2 characters I have been drawing for 6 weeks now, so yay, I can re-do it some time.
Another thing- Pixel art! I love it so much but again, I must have patience to make it work as actual pixel art, so what do I do, I half-ass it into a pseudo-pixel art style, in SAI2, instead of Aseprite (which I do have but don't use cause it's hard/different).
This is the last similar thing I did (again, same characters sorry):

-Now back to traditional art... yeah I love traditional art, I miss watercolor for example, but it is very hard with my terrible shaky hands. Would also love to try oils again but they do take forever to dry... so maybe for now I'll stick to watercolor, acrylic markers, alcohol markers, colored pencils... I can't seem to find the perfect medium. It's always imperfect. Oh well.
Let's not even get into more things like embroidery and needle felting!
Even within what I already do - digital painting- there are so many different styles I like, I never know which I wanna use.
Cute or serious, simple or more complex, stylized or more realistic? Colorful or grayscale? Ughh they're all great. So I never stick to one thing long enough to be really good at it. It's annoying, but less boring.
Maybe I got used to how I do things and just got lazy over time... Unfortunately I have to make money, and my art career (or lack of) is at a dead-end, but nevermind that for now. Anyway. I'll try to write something more coherent next time.
And yes all my recent art is them -flails arms around insanely-
(also I just downloaded wigglypaint on my ipad -sigh )
